Car Stolen With Baby Inside; Child Found Safe

Police said an infant was found safe after the car he was in was stolen.

The infant and the car were found at 672 New York Avenue on the north side.

Police said the car was stolen on Monday with a 9-month-old boy still inside.

According to police, the infant's father pulled into a Mid America Beer Barn and left the car running with the infant inside.

When the infant's father returned to the vehicle, he noticed a man in the car with his son. Police said the father grabbed onto the car and was dragged an unknown distance, sustaining injuries to his hands.

Police said the car was a 2000 black Ford Taurus with a sunroof. It was last seen driving southbound on North 7th Street on the north side.

Police said the man who took the car is white and wearing a ball cap and a red jacket.

The car was stolen in the area of North 4th and East 6th Avenues.

Police identified the infant as 9-month-old Armone Cleveland Jr.

The condition of the infant was not immediately known.

The license plate of the car is FAW 2239.

Police said the man who stole the car is still on the loose.
