A traffic stop in Canton is under investigation for excessive use of force after a trooper unleashed his K-9 on a driver.

The driver was pulled over because of a homemade license plate in the back of the car by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to WJW, 45-year-old Ronald Wagner refused to tell police who he was or answer any questions and the Canton Police Department was called to assist.

In the video, police warn Wagner they will break his window and take him into custody if he doesn’t comply.

“You are going to get bit by this K-9 if you don't act accordingly," the K-9 officer tells Wagner.

The K-9 jumps through the window and grips on Wagner’s arm.

Wagner told the Canton Rep that he was having surgery on his arm.

Wagner was charged with display/expired plates; no seat belt; obstructing official business; resisting arrest; unauthorized plates and driving with a valid license.
