Board approves armed resource officers in Worthington high schools

WORTHINGTON, Ohio – The Worthington City School District Board of Education passed a resolution Monday night to have armed school resource officers at the district’s high schools.

The resolution passed on a vote of 3-2 to “approve the Superintendent’s recommendation to enter into agreements with the City of Worthington and the City of Columbus to provide school resource officers for each of the district’s traditional high schools for the 2018-2019 school year.”

People in support of and against the resolution spoke at the board meeting before board members discussed the resolution and put it to a vote.

The school resource officers will be at Thomas Worthington High School and Worthington Kilbourne High School.
