Blue Jackets to play 2 regular season games in Finland in 2020

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche will play each other in a pair of regular-season games next season at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland as part of the 2020 NHL Global Series.

“The Columbus Blue Jackets are proud and excited to be participating in next year’s NHL Global Series in our 20th season as a member of the National Hockey League,” said club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen. “It means a great deal to me personally, knowing how passionate Finnish hockey fans are, to be a part of bringing our team to the place where my NHL dreams began as a young hockey player.”

Game dates and ticketing information will be announced in the future.

The 2020 NHL Global Series will mark the second time the Blue Jackets have played regular-season games in Europe.

They participated in the 2010 NHL Premiere in Stockholm, Sweden, splitting a pair of games with the San Jose Sharks.
