Barn at hog farm destroyed by fire in Fayette County; 180 hogs die


FAYETTE COUNTY - The Fayette County Sheriff's office confirms they are on the scene of a barn fire at a hog farm.

The sheriff's office received the call at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The barn is located on Old U.S. 35 near Boyd.

The barn was under construction and is a total loss, according to the sheriff.

Three construction workers were injured. There is no word on their condition.

180 hogs died in the blaze, according to the Fayette County Sheriff.

The sheriff's office said this is the same farm where 5,000 pigs were killed in a barn fire last June.
