Authorities identify 3 people killed at separate crime scenes in Ross County


ROSS COUNTY, Ohio - Authorities suspect the shooting deaths of two people at a home are connected to a violent assault that critically injured one person and left another dead at another home a few miles away.

The sheriff's office responded to a home in the 4500 block of Vigo Road at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday. They found a male and female who had both been violently assaulted.

Both had life-threatening injuries and were transported to Grant Medical Center. Authorities said one of those victims passed away Monday afternoon.

While at the home on Vigo Road, deputies were alerted to another scene on Bowman Lane. Deputies arrived and discovered a male and female dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The Ross County Sheriff's Office has identified the three victims who have died as 46-year-old Leann Potts, 63-year-old Thomas Littler and 50-year-old Rick Adams.

All three of those victims suffered gunshot wounds as well as other injuries. The exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Investigators from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force, and Ohio B.C.I. are all investigating what happened.

Authorities have not released any information on a possible suspect at this time,
