Armed Man Kills Intruder During Reynoldsburg Home Invasion

One person is dead and another injured after an armed man fights back against two intruders in Reynoldsburg.

A woman called 911 around 10 p.m. Sunday reporting the shooting in the 8300 block of Priestley Drive, off of Taylor Road.

During the call, the woman told a dispatcher that she was hiding in the basement. Multiple shots could be heard while she was on the phone.

The caller said her cousin and a friend were upstairs, where the shots were being fired. The caller's 9-year-old son was also in the home.

Police tell 10TV two men broke into the home and one of the intruders -18-year-old Joshua Collins - exchanged gunfire with an armed man inside the home.

Collins was struck by the gunfire and was pronounced dead Monday morning at Grant Medical Center.

The armed man was injured, but is expected to recover.

The second intruder remains at large.  He is described as a black male wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt.  Detectives tell 10TV they believe he is no longer in the area.

Police say they believe the incident was a targeted home invasion.
