Olivia Ugino (pronounced you-jee-no) joined 10TV in January 2021. Prior to that, she was a multimedia journalist at NBC12 WWBT in Richmond, Virginia, for two years. There, she covered the funeral of George H. W. Bush, the sentencing of white supremacist James Fields Jr., the killer of Heather Heyer in the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville, the protests in the former Capital of the Confederacy, the removal of multiple Confederate statues, as well as the governor's blackface scandal and lieutenant governor's sexual assault allegations.

Olivia also reported as an On Your Side investigator with a weekly series delving into restaurant inspections and was also a member of the political team. Olivia has a passion for storytelling and started a weekly series sharing the hidden gems of Central Virginia.

Prior to working in Richmond, Olivia worked at NewsChannel 9 in Syracuse, New York, and WWNY in Watertown, New York. In Syracuse, Olivia was a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor/producer. She studied at SUNY Oswego and has degrees in journalism and political science.

Olivia won an Emmy Award for her reporting in Richmond, Virginia. She has been recognized several times by the Syracuse Press Club, including a nomination for her investigations into nursing home mistreatment. She is also an NPPA member.

• She is an avid hiker and is currently trying to hike to the highest point of each state; she has done 18 so far!
