Hey, everyone! Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit about me.
Born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania – I grew up in Gilmer County, West Virginia where my love for broadcast journalism began. From the first time I stepped in front of a camera, I knew it was my calling. Kudos to Linda Rock for that one.
After graduating from Marshall University (Go Herd!) in 2007, I began my professional career with the ABC/FOX affiliate in the Huntington/Charleston market. After about a year – a thought popped in to my head that has never come out: Why not tell a story the way I’d want to be told a story? Simple concept, right? Don’t just cram news down someone’s throat – give them a reason to watch – a reason to trust you – and a reason to care.
The next stop in my TV journey took me to the ABC affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama, where I was an anchor and reporter for four years. There, I won three Alabama AP Awards (one for Best Reporter in 2010) and a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Writing in 2014.
When I’m not in the newsroom, my life revolves around my beautiful wife, Whitney, our son, Penn, our families and our two (crazy) dachshunds, Dani and Alvin. I also (NERD ALERT) enjoy reading comic books, building Lego, creating stop-motion Lego movies and take pride in the fact that I can solve a Rubik’s Cube. Don’t believe me? Try me.
When you see me out and about – please feel free to introduce yourselves. I always enjoy meeting anyone and everyone and hearing your amazing stories!
I love telling stories that viewers want to see…that YOU want to see. What do you care about? What are your interests? Let me know! Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail and let’s tell Central Ohio why they should care, too!
Thank you so much for all of the warm welcomes to the 10TV family and the Columbus area!
