4 Mexican gray wolf pups born at the Columbus Zoo

Columbus Zoo & Aquarium

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium announced the births of four Mexican gray wolf pups, the first to be born there in 14 years.

The pups were born May 6 to first-time parents Winter and Storm. Their sexes are currently unknown.

The parents arrived at the zoo in December. Winter came from the South Salem, New York, and Storm from the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, Missouri.

The zoo’s care staff continues to monitor the mother and pups in their den who said she is providing excellent care.

Although the pups are not currently visible to guests, they may begin venturing out of the den with their mother soon.
