4 construction workers injured in Mansfield crash

RICHLAND COUNTY - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an injury crash that happened Thursday evening.

It happened just after 9 p.m. on Interstate 71 northbound near milepost 173.

A construction crew from A&A Safety was on the back of a cone truck setting up a work zone when a pickup truck struck the cone truck. Then a commercial vehicle struck the pickup truck.

Two construction workers were on the back of the cone truck when it was struck, and another contractor was standing outside of this vehicle at the time the crash when he was also struck.

All workers who were injured were taken by EMS in non-life-threatening injuries.

The interstate was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
