3 teens shot while walking in west Columbus

COLUMBUS- The Columbus Division of Police is investigating a shooting that left three teens injured in west Columbus.

Investigators say the shooting happened Tuesday night at 10:18 p.m. on the 600 block of Wrexham Avenue..

As officers arrived, they came in contact with three male teens near the scene suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims, two 15-year-olds and one 16-year-old, told police they were walking in the area of Nashoba Avene and Safford Avenue when the suspect walked up and started firing multiple shots, according to police.

Detectives say the male teens were shot in the upper body and were all transported to an area hospital expected to be OK.

The victims all identified a 16-year-old male as the shooter and police have filed a warrant for felonious assault for the suspect, who is not in police custody.

The shooting remains under investigation.
