COLUMBUS, Ohio – A young boy who was left on a daycare bus outside a movie theater in northwest Columbus was rescued by three mothers who said they were in the right place at the right time.

The incident happened at the Carriage Place Plaza on Bethel Road Tuesday afternoon.

The three women, who are co-workers at a nursing home, were heading to lunch and parked next to the bus from The Learning Experience daycare.

Though the windows were up and the doors were shut, one of the women saw something inside. She realized it was a child.

The van was unlocked and the women rushed to get him out. They said he was still buckled in his car seat and he was drenched in sweat.

The women learned his daycare was at an outing at the Carriage Place movie theater. They were told he was in the bus for about an hour.

The boy was checked out by paramedics and is expected to be OK.

10TV reached out to the daycare for comment. We have not heard back. Two of the workers have been charged with child endangerment and neglect.
