GAHANNA, Ohio -- A 24-year-old man working with a tree trimming company in Gahanna died Friday after coming in contact with a live power line.

At approximately 9:50 a.m. the Gahanna Division of Police and Mifflin Township Fire Department responded to a 911 call at the intersection of N. High and Walnut Street on a reported electrocution.

Gahanna police say the man, identified as Michael Lee Ware, was in a bucket lift when he made contact with a live AEP power line. He sustained fatal injuries as a result.

AEP cut power to the area impacting traffic signals, Jefferson Elementary School and the Old Gahanna section of the city.

Power has since been restored but it will be down again from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. while crews make repairs.
