2 Teens Charged In Connection With Linden-McKinley Student's Death

Two teens were arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy last week.

According to Columbus police, Shyquan Washington is charged in connection with the shooting death of Keawaun Coleman. He was arrested on Tuesday.

Police arrested 15-year-old Jesean Callender, who also is charged with murder, at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Coleman was shot on Thursday afternoon near the McDonald's restaurant, located at 2055 Cleveland Avenue.

Police said a group of students from Linden-McKinley High School started fighting in an alley not too far from the school, when someone started shooting.  They said Coleman was hit in the alley and stumbled to the parking lot
of the McDonald's.

Calls to 911 were made about a group of high-schoolers fighting in the parking lot. Witnesses reported hearing two or three shots.

Police said that Washington planned the murder and was lying in wait with 15-year-old Callender.

Documents stated that Washington gave Callender the handgun.

When Coleman was 12, he was shot by someone driving by him in his neighborhood. At the time, his mother told 10TV News that she believed he was targeted because of his relatives.
