15-year-old charged with reckless homicide after shooting death of 14-year-old in north Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged following the shooting death of a 14-year-old girl at a north Columbus home last month.

Police said the shooting happened at around 6:45 p.m. inside the home in the 3600 block of Homestead Drive, near Northridge Road on April 10.

Police said a single gunshot was fired inside the home and that the girl was shot in the head. Police said no adults were at the home at the time.

The girl, identified as Ciara Bray, was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. She passed away on April 12.

On Sunday, police said they charged the 15-year-old boy with causing Bray's death. He has been arrested and charged with reckless homicide and tampering with evidence.

10TV is not reporting the suspect's name at this time because he is a minor.
