11-year-old girl injured in drive-by shooting in north Columbus

COLUMBUS - Columbus Police is investigating a drive-by shooting in north Columbus that injured an 11-year-old girl.

Officers responded to Chittenden Avenue between St. Clair Avenue and Brooks Avenue for a report of shooting just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. They found an 11-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.

Detectives say the girl was inside a residence when she was shot.

Police say she was stable when transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital for treatment. She is expected to survive her injuries.

Police are looking for a maroon four-door vehicle in connection with the case.
