1 taken to hospital following crash involving fire engine near New Albany

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is in the hospital after a crash involving multiple vehicles near New Albany.

According to Columbus police, the crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on S.R. 161 westbound near New Albany Road.

The Plain Township Fire Department tells 10TV that the crash involved multiple vehicles, including a fire engine.

No firefighters were hurt, according to the fire department.

One person was taken to Mount Carmel East in stable condition, according to police.

Authorities say S.R. 161 was closed at New Albany Road but has since been reopened.
