1 in life-threatening condition after shooting near downtown Columbus


COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is in life-threatening condition after a shooting near downtown Columbus on Wednesday evening.

According to Columbus police, the shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of South 18th Street and East Main Street. Police say the 20-year-old victim was driving when he was shot. He then crashed his vehicle into a fence.

Medical personnel transported the victim to a local area hospital. He was in critical condition at the time.

There is currently no suspect information
