1 critically injured in east Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio - One person is in critical condition after a shooting in east Columbus, according to police.

Officers responded to the area of East Main Street and South James Road just before 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.

According to investigators, the 23-year-old victim was walking with two friends when people began shooting.

The victim ran to James Road and Main Street where he collapsed. He had a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said the person was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, but he is expected to recover from his injury.

Police have a very limited description of the suspects.
