COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 14-year-old boy was killed and a 17-year-old was injured after a shooting in the Mount Vernon area last week, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
The shooting happened on Dec.30 in the 500 block of North Champion Avenue just before 8:45 p.m.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they found the teens suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were taken to Grant Medical Center.
The 14-year-old was pronounced dead at 10:43 p.m. Police did not release the boy's name.
Police say the 17-year-old is in critical condition.
Officers do not have any suspect information at this time.
