Strong Winds Cause Damage, Power OutagesDec 03 2007 7:22AMCOLUMBUS, Ohio - Strong winds knocked down trees and left thousands across central Ohio without power Sunday night. At the peak, about 4,000 customers were without power, 10TV News reported. American Electric Power reported less than 1,000 customers without power at 6:30 a.m. Monday, mainly to the northwest and southwest. The wind blew trees into power lines, causing the outages. Much of the wind damage was located on the city's north side, 10TV News reported. Crews were working to repair the power outages.
