Dozens Hit By Smash And Grab SpreeOct 20 2007 12:16AMCOLUMBUS, Ohio - Automobile owners in one near east side neighborhood have been besieged this week by a rash of car break-ins. The crime spree has left streets and driveways in the Old Towne East community littered with broken glass. After smashing the windows, thieves have ransacked vehicles looking for anything of value. Dozens of victims were trying to warn others Friday. The epicenter of the crimes seemed to be the area of South 19th Street and Bryden Road. One family told 10TV News they have had to deal with four broken vehicle windows over the past month.
