"Everyone needs some form of comfort, some way to express emotions and it's good for everyone to express it," said Ryan Chan of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. OSU's InterVarsity Christian Fellowship stood in the middle of the campus oval, allowing passersby to sign notes of sympathy, write messages on a board, or simply wear ribbons with the Virginia Tech colors to show their support. "This never should have happened to any students at Virginia Tech, and they didn't deserve it," said Ohio State freshman Katy Hayes. It was clear from reading the message board that there was still a lot of confusion over why this incident happened. One message asked the question many people continue to ask, will college campuses ever be the same again? "We're out there giving students a chance to respond to how they feel today," said Erik Bobbitt of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. On Thursday night, the fellowship group planned to hold a memorial service to help students who were still struggling to make sense of it all.
