Alleged Police Imposter Found Hiding In AtticFeb 01 2007 5:10PM
Shane Peterman was taken into custody by members of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Marshal's office. Authorities said Peterman approached a vehicle in an alley near West Broad Street and South Huron Avenue on New Year's Day and identified himself as a Columbus police officer. Peterman then allegedly said he had a gun and ordered three people out of the vehicle before stealing their money. The U.S. Marshal's office said Peterman was found in an attic inside a home in the 100 block of North Huron Avenue. As officers were escorting him to a vehicle, he attempted to escape but was quickly recaptured across the street. Peterman was transported to a hospital after he told officers that he swallowed five hits of the drug, Ecstacy, when they entered the attic, authorities said. He was scheduled to be transported to the Franklin County Jail once he was medically cleared. Stay with WBNS-10TV and 10TV.com for additional information. |
