COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel returned home from a trip to the Middle East with memories he said he will cherish for the rest of his life.

Tressel was one of six active football coaches who took part in the second Coaches Tour to the Middle East.

The tour launched from McConnell Air Force Base, near Wichita, Kan., the home of the 22nd Aerial Refueling Wing.  The coaches visited U.S. military installations in Germany, Turkey, Iraq, Kuwait, Djibouti and Spain.

The photographs taken during the trip showed Tressel meeting with U.S. servicemen and women and even playing football with the troops.

One of the video clips taken showed Tressel chest-bumping a serviceman who made a good play.

Tressel said that he spent one night in a bunk bed inside one of Saddam Hussein's palaces.

The other coaches on the trip were Texas' Mack Brown, Air Force's Troy Calhoun, Wake Forest's Jim Grobe, UCLA's Rick Neuheisel and Mississippi's Houston Nutt.  Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville also took part.
