"This is definitely the largest to date in the state of Ohio and the general midwest." said Juwi Solar Director of Engineering and Planning Seth Kassels.

The Wyandot Solar project is located just north of Upper Sandusky.  Right now, crews are working in the cold to keep the project on pace. "

We're putting modules on as well as doing some of the trenching for cabling." added Kassels.

Juwi Solar is the company designing and building the project; a project spanning the size of more than 60 football fields.  If you were to stack the solar panels end to end, they would line Interstate 70 from Dayton to Zanesville.

"It's great from an investment standpoint. It's clean, efficient, and very friendly to the environment." said PSEG Solar Source LLC Site Representative Curt Judy. That is why PSEG Solar Source LLC bought this project and others. 

AEP Ohio has agreed to buy the green energy, 12 megawatts, enough to power about 160,000 light bulbs or 1,425 Ohio homes.

Ohio based crews do the hammering and lifting.

"There will be temporary and permanent employment throughout the installation and longevity of the solar field." said Judy. 

The project is ultimately a dose of green energy coupled with a local economic shot the arm.
