"I was officially laid off on the 15th of May this year," said William Hainline.
That's after 22 years with the same company. The Milan branch of Tenneco is closing shop.
"I just have to do what I have to do. I have to stay positive. I have to stay strong for my wife," said Hainline.
On top of losing his job, Hainline just received the worst news of his life.
"My wife was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, stage 4. They've given her one year to live," said Hainline.
It's a year medical coverage is desperately needed.
"I get $1,600 a month on unemployment. I have to live on that now, and I'm incurring all these medical expenses and bills. I just don't see an end to the problem," he added.
This father of two isn't willing to move. His children and a dying wife will keep him in this part of the state. Even though at times things can't seem to get any worse, Hainline finds a way to stay positive.
"The only thing I can do is stay positive, keep a level head and be strong for my wife," said
Hainline.
