"Their home was robbed, took all of his stuff and put it in his car and drove away. There have been a lot of stories involving burglaries," said Osterman.
According to police reports this neighborhood in the Clifton area has had several burglaries. Three burglaries involved alarms which were either not turned on or had been disconnected by the homeowner, reported ONN's Lot Tan.
Cincinnati police now plan to install high tech cameras to not only catch the bad guys but also deter criminals from breaking into homes and committing other violent crimes.
"We did an analysis of data to show us where crimes occur and where we need cameras to be," said Chief Tom Streicher, Cincinnati Police Department.
Streicher said the federal government awarded Cincinnati two million dollars for this new
program.
The city will team up with the University of Cincinnati, which has had cameras on campus for
the past 10 years.
