When you think of how some nursing home residents pass the time, video games may not come to mind.
Since many of the residents of the Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa are wheelchair bound, games on the Wii help them get moving.
"It's even enjoyable when I loose I don't care that much," said nursing home resident Diane Drerup.
One thing Drerup and her bowling partner Maryann Radabaugh did care about was finding their Wii and the women who stole it Sunday night.
"We'd always thought the Wii remotes might wind up missing but never thought someone would take our system," said Jessica Trinko of the Putnam Acres Care Center.
Women who faked an interest In applying for a job left with more than a job application.
Police say one of the women slipped it into her purse. When they confronted her about it, she confessed.
"We're only talking a couple hundred dollar piece of equipment here and is that certainly worth 18 months in jail or prison?" questioned Putnam County Sheriff Jim Beutler.
Because the theft happened on county property, Sheriff Beutler is considering felony charges against the unnamed suspects.
Residents like Radabaugh who plays the Wii everyday said they can forgive, but will never forget the crime.
"I'd say something but it would be nasty," said Radabaugh.
Sherrif Beutler said this crime will not go unpunished.
"We're not playing games," said Beutler.
