Governor Strickland has felt that ripple and is discussing legal action, and he plans to meet with air park officials Wednesday.
"We here looking at every available option to us," Strickland told ONN's Dan Weist.
Gov. Strickland says the DHL plan announced over the weekend to transfer it's air shipping business away from the Wilmington ABX company needs legal scrutiny.
A regional task force has formed to concentrate on issue.
But if the transfer happens, the Strickland administration believes it could cost a six-county region more than eight thousand Ohio jobs.
"We want to make sure there are no antitrust elements in this decision," said Strickland.
Also on the job front, Strickland blames national lawmakers for some of the trouble in the auto industry and rising gas prices.
The GM announcement that it is closing the Moraine plant means thousands are more likely to lose employment as GM concentrates on fuel efficient cars.
"We've got an administration that is passive and asleep at the wheel, not paying attention when it comes to the needs to the economy of Ohio and of America," Strickland added.
The ABX task force is preparing for the worst and planning to send in a transition team to help displaced workers with possible job replacement. That even means retraining and it's likely that will happen in Moraine as well.
But in the meantime ABX workers started their own petition drive and letter writing campaign, hoping personal appeal will help in campaign to save Ohio jobs.
