According to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, the oil came from an underground storage tank belonging to Bexley's Capital University.

The university could have to pay $30,000 for cleanup associated with the leak.

In a statement, Capital University said it was performing its own investigation into the matter and would determine "the most environmentally responsible course of action to take" once the inquiry is completed.
