STORM BLOG: Wednesday Cancellations Coming In

9:30 P.M.: Olentangy Local Schools, in Delaware County, will close Wednesday because of weather and road conditions, the district announced.
9 P.M.: Marion City Schools in Marion County will be closed Wednesday because of the weather. Big Walnut Local Schools in Delaware County will operate Wednesday on a two-hour delay. Other cancellations are coming in to the 10TV news room. Newark has declared a snow emergency and said cars parked along main city streets could be towed at owner's expense.
8 P.M.: ODOT said it has more than 130 crews on the roads in the six county central Ohio region including Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Madison Marion, Morrow, Pickaway and Union counties. The crews will continue to work 12 hour shifts throughout the night and into tomorrow to ensure that the roads remain safe and passable. They were reminding motorists Ice and Snow...Take it Slow!
7:25 P.M.: Live Doppler 10 chief meteorologist Chris Bradley said temperatures will start to dive between 8 and 10 p.m., which could increase icy roads. Winds on Wednesday are expected to reach up to 40 mph.
5:55 P.M.: Some school closings for Wednesday are already coming in to the 10TV newsroom:

5:40 P.M.: Continental Airlines has canceled all Columbus flights to to Newark, New Jersey for Wednesday, Continental Airline's Columbus general manager said. Customers affected by the canceled flights can contact Continental Airlines at 1800-525-0280 or check their reservations online.
5:17 P.M.: Washington Court House City Schools in Fayette County and Hamilton Local Schools in Franklin County are closed tomorrow. Check out our list of cancellations throughout the night and early morning hours.

4:55 P.M.: 10TV News HD will start 30 minutes earlier on Wednesday at 4:30 a.m., for the latest on the winter storm making its way through the region.
3:38 P.M.: More than 130 Ohio Department of Transportation crews are working throughout District 6, which includes Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Madison Marion, Morrow, Pickaway and Union Counties.
3:25 P.M.: ODOT said all lanes of Interstate 670 have reopened following a crash earlier in the day.
3:15 P.M.: ODOT said all lanes of Interstate 71 southbound near Polaris Parkway are now open. The interstate was reduced to one lane shortly before 2 p.m. because of a crash.
3 P.M.: COTA announced it will offer free bus rides during a Level 2 or Level 3 snow emergency in an effort to reduce traffic congestion.
The snow emergency must be declared by the Franklin County Sheriff.
2 P.M.: TRAFFIC ALERT: According to ODOT, I-670 is reduced to one lane at Stelzer Road because of a crash
It was not known how long the restriction would be in place. Nationwide Insurance announced it
will dismiss central Ohio employees at 2:30 p.m.
1:48 P.M.: TRAFFIC ALERT: A portion of I-71 southbound near Polaris
Parkway has been reduced to one lane because of a crash.
It was not clear how long the restriction would be in place.

inclement weather.

10:37 A.M.: Columbus City Schools announces it is dismissing students early .
9:50 A.M.: Franklin County was placed under a level 1 snow emergency shortly before 10 a.m. For a complete list of snow emergencies and their meanings, click here.
The latest from Live Doppler 10 meteorologist Mike Davis: Light snow will continue to fall throughout the day. By noon, most areas across central Ohio will have received 1-3 inches.
Later today, look for winds to kick up. Blowing and drifting could affect visibility.
Davis said the heaviest snow will likely fall late tonight and into Wednesday morning.

6:20 A.M.: Dozens of school districts have already canceled classes ahead of Tuesday's winter storm.
Hilliard, South-Western, Worthington and Dublin were among the largest districts to cancel early.
As of 6:20 a.m., Columbus City Schools was still OPEN.
6 A.M.: Ohio Department of Transportation spokeswoman Nancy Burton said 89 crews were working on treating central Ohio roadways.
Nearly 40 of those crews were in Franklin County.
5:30 A.M.: The majority of Ohio is under a winter storm warning through Wednesday afternoon.
Live Doppler 10 meteorologist Mike Davis said snow will persist through midday on Wednesday, with total accumulations in central Ohio reaching 4-8 inches.
