Columbus City Schools To Dismiss Early

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus City School district will release its middle and high school students early on Tuesday because of weather.

According to the district, all elementary schools, including all K-8 schools, will release at their regular time to ensure that students can arrive home safely, and as close to their normal times as possible. There is no special needs preschool on Tuesday.

The Elementary School and Middle School fairs planned for tonight and tomorrow night will be rescheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday. All extracurricular activities are canceled for Tuesday night. Visit www.Columbus.k12.oh.us for the latest updates.

CCS instructed all transportation personnel to report to work immediately.

The following schools will release at 1:30 p.m.

  • Beechcroft HS Champion MS
  • Briggs HS Clinton MS
  • Brookhaven HS Dominion MS
  • Centennial HS Eastmoor MS
  • East HS Franklin Alternative MS
  • Eastmoor Academy HS Hilltonia MS
  • Independence HS Indianola Math, Science & Tech. MS
  • Linden-McKinley HS Johnson Park MS
  • Marion-Franklin HS Medina MS
  • Mifflin HS Mifflin Alternative MS
  • Northland HS Monroe Alternative MS
  • South HS Ridgeview MS
  • Walnut Ridge HS Sherwood MS
  • West HS Southmoor MS
  • Whetstone HS Starling MS
  • Columbus Global Academy 6-12 Wedgewood MS
  • Westmoor MS
  • Woodward Park MS
  • Yorktown MS

The following schools will release at 1 p.m.

  • Alum Crest HS
  • Clearbrook MS
  • I-PASS @ Mifflin MS

All nonpublic and community schools will make their own determination and announcement if and when a decision is made to release early.
