2 Drivers Off The Bus After Urinating In Public

The No. 11 COTA bus provides a daily ride to passengers from downtown to the east side, but two of the routes' drivers will no longer be behind the wheel, COTA spokesperson Beth Berkemer said.
"We got a tip from an employee from Donato's that there was a gentleman back behind their Dumpsters urinating," Berkemer said.
That, Berkemer said, is a violation of COTA's handbook. "It's in their handbook and it's actually specifically addressed," Berkemer said.
Bus drivers have time to stop and take a bathroom break, but they are expected to use businesses along their routes, Berkemer said.
"We actually have relationships with many businesses along these routes. They're more than welcome to use these at any point in time," Berkemer said.
One driver was seen urinating behind Dumpsters near a bus stop along the route, and within walking distance from dozens of businesses with bathrooms.
COTA officials said both incidents were thoroughly investigated.
One of the drivers was terminated, and the other retired after 27 years with the company.
This is not the first time something like this has come up. COTA said there have been five instances like this in the last year, Nova reported.
