Officers said they tried to pull the car over in the Minerva Park area on the city's northeast side, but the driver failed to stop.

The man led police on a short car chase before crashing into a tree on Wildwood Road, where he attempted to flee on foot, 10TV News reported.

Police caught the man a short time later and arrested him. They said drugs were found in his car.

The man's name was not immediately released.
