PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The Pickerington High School Central marching band will again get to strut its stuff on two big national stages.

Later this week, the band will perform in New York City in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

More than 200 band members depart for New York on Tuesday.

Then, shortly after returning to Ohio, the band will begin practicing for the Rose Parade on New Year's Day.

Band director Mike Sewell said it was impossible to choose between the events, so for the fourth time, the band will perform in both parades.

"Those are the sorts of things where, if you're chosen and don't take it, they may not get invited again," Sewell said.  "They're once in a lifetime things."

Senior band member Jessi Woods shared the same excitement.

"The band is an amazing band and it's fun to be a family with them," she said.  "We're going to have tons of fun."
