DELAWARE, Ohio —

The county jail administrator resigned Friday, as an investigation into his conduct was completed, 10TV News reported.

Chris Smith's resignation was effective immediately, Sheriff Walter L. Davis, III said.

There is no criminal investigation into Smith's actions, Davis said.

The sheriff's office announced Friday it had completed an investigation into Smith's conduct, after an anonymous complaint was made to county commissioners earlier this month.

Smith was being investigated for violations of the county's conduct, non-discrimination and harassment policies.

The investigation revealed Smith had violated the county's code of conduct.

Smith had been on unpaid leave since Nov. 9.
