NEW YORK — 10TV's Andy Hirsch traveled to New York for a preview of January's International Consumer Electronics Show for a look at the hottest items hitting a store near you.

A theme in the latest gadgets was convenience, Hirsh reported.

Patrick Tarpey showed off some of his products recognized by the CES for their innovative designs.

"The most positive thing about these products is it helps streamline the lives of busy people," Tarpey said.

The P-Flip is the world's first multi-functional, rechargeable power stand, Hirsch reported.

The dock is a pocket-sized stand, making it easy to watch videos while charging your iPhone or iPod on the go, and there's nothing to plug in.

"Travelers, these days, everyone has to stay connected on the go.  The more that people can be mobile and be with power, the better," Tarpey said.

CES also praised the MHub, Hirsch reported.

With three USB ports, an SD card reader, and the ability to sync your computer with your iPhone, iPod or Blackberry, the MHub is designed to make your home or office a little less hectic.

Also grabbing attention with a 'Best of Innovations' Award is the GPS navigation and battery cradle for the iPod touch.

"The cradle basically gives the iPod touch the capabilities to become a fully featured GPS navigator," said JK Marketing's Joanna Lukins. "When you're done navigating in the car you can just take it out, and you can use it with other apps.  You can explore the city on foot, find a restaurant, or just go hiking and biking."

The cradle should be on sale by the end of November, Hirsch reported.
