Jail Director At Center Of Violations Probe

DELAWARE, Ohio — A Delaware County Corrections director has been placed on unpaid administrative paid leave
pending the outcome of an internal investigation, 10TV's Patrick Bell reported on Thursday.
Jail director Chris Smith is being investigated for possible violations of the county's conduct, non-discrimination and harassment policies.
A Delaware County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman would not elaborate on what initiated the investigation, saying only that any allegations against Smith were of a non-criminal nature, Bell reported.
Smith was ordered to surrender his firearm, badge and access card during the investigation.
