COLUMBUS, Ohio — On Thursday, motorists will be reminded that they are not alone on the roads, with the kickoff of the Share The Road campaign, 10TV's Tanisha Mallett reported.

The city will be installing 54 signs along High Street, from Nationwide Boulevard to Morse Road, reminding drivers they are not the only ones on the road.

The signs are part of a larger initiative to make the streets safer for cyclists.

Gail Falkinburg, who is still mourning the loss of her friend and fellow cyclist Stephen Barbour, said not enough drivers look out for cyclists on the road.

"We try to do everything that we can to be safe. I know Steve had lights on - I had 11 lights on the day I was hit and a high visibility neon jacket and the driver said he didn't see me," Falkinburg said.

Falkinburg said she has not gotten back on a bike since her friend Steve Barbour's death in July, and hopes the new attention will help her feel comfortable enough to ride again.
