FBI: Man Robs Bank Twice In Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police and the FBI were searching for the man who robbed a north side bank for the second time in less than one week.

According to the FBI, A man who was pretending to talk on his cell phone entered Cooper State Bank, located at 3245 North High St., at 11:11 a.m., and handed the teller a note.

Police said that the note stated he was robbing the bank and would kill the teller if she did not give him money.

Although no weapon was seen, police said that the teller complied and gave the robber money from her drawer. 

The robber took the money and ran away, police said.

He was described as being in his 30s, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a medium build and was wearing a dark stocking cap, beige zippered sweater, blue jeans and dark shoes. 

Witnesses told police that the same man robbed the bank on Friday and was wearing a very distinctive baby blue hat.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to contact the Columbus Police Robbery Squad at 614-645-4665 or the FBI at 614-744-2168. 

There is a reward for information leading to the robber's identification and arrest, the FBI said.
