LOGAN, Ohio — Ziplines, aerial tours and spa days are all a quick ride from Columbus, 10TV's Kurt Ludlow reported.

"Whether you're looking for a fun family adventure or a romantic couple's retreat the Hocking Hills region truly has something to please all types of travelers," said Ohio AAA's Joanna Herncane.

The Hocking Hills canopy tour in Rockbridge is the ultimate thrill ride you zip through treetops at 3,200 feet of cables suspended high above the forest floor.

The three-hour tour takes you through Sycamores, Oaks and Maples along the Hocking River and is open April through November.

The tour costs $85 and is open to those 10 and older.

"We actually just completed the longest zip on the canopy tour.  It's the length of almost two football fields, called Flight 572.  It's just unbeatable," Herncane said.

Vinton County's Harry Sowers puts his 40 years of flying experience to use, serving as the ultimate private tour guide, Ludlow reported.

He'll take you a few thousand feet into the sky trails above the scenic vistas of the Hocking Hills.

Flights are offered year-round and last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.

Prices start at $60.

And if you want to get your head out of the clouds, try relaxing at Glen Laurel, the area's Scottish inn and spa.

It has the look of the Scottish countryside and the feel of times gone by nestled on 140 acres of secluded cottages.

Each cottage is themed after a prominent personality from Scottish history.

Rates start at $149 a night and save room for the food Glen Laurel is known for its gourmet cuisine.
