GROVE CITY, Ohio — For the South-Western City School District, it appears the fourth time is the charm.

According to unofficial tallies early Wednesday morning, the district's latest levy proposal, Issue 47, was approved 51 percent to 49 percent, 10TV News reported.

On Tuesday night, neither supporters or opponents of the measure declared victory, saying the race was too close to call.

Voters shot down three previous proposals earlier this year.

The levy is expected to cost the owner of a $100,000 home $227 more per year.

More than 38,000 votes were cast in Tuesday's election, and just 449 ballots kept the measure from failing, 10TV's Patrick Bell reported.

The South-Western City School District is expected to reinstate extracurricular activities and athletics that were slashed when a previous levy proposal failed.

The superintendent of South-Western City Schools was expected to speak with 10TV News about the levy Wednesday at 6:30 a.m.

Other Levy Results Mixed

Voters in other central Ohio school districts cast mixed ballots on Tuesday.

Voters approved levy issues in Marysville, Westerville and Worthington, while proposals were rejected in Reynoldsburg, Circleville, Logan-Elm and Bloom-Carroll.

The proposal in Bloom-Carroll was defeated by just six votes.
