GALION, Ohio — A Galion woman was left bruised and shaken up after being robbed in own home Sunday night.

Kathleen Sinclair has lived in her home for nearly 50 years and said she never dreamed of something like this happening.

Sinclair, 84, was the victim of a beating when three masked men forced their way into her Crawford County home, 10TV's Jeff Hogan reported.

Sinclair answered a knock at the door and was punched in the face.

Three men forced their way inside, duct-taped her mouth shut and attacked her.

They repeatedly asked for money and medication, Sinclair said.

"And I said I don't have any, I don't  carry a purse, every time I said that I'd get punched. So I figured I better keep my mouth shut," Sinclair said.

Her husband Sam, who is hard of hearing, was asleep in the bedroom.

"I couldn't believe it," said Sam Sinclair. "I hope I live long enough to see an arrest."

It was over in a matter of minutes, but Sinclair said she did not think she would come out of the ordeal alive.

Sinclair was taken to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released.

"I thought a lot of things I thought if I had a shotgun I'd have used it," Sinclair said. "I remember how those punches felt, I won't forget that anytime soon."

The Crawford County Sheriff's office says this was an isolated case, but is warning residents to be careful when opening the door to unknown people.

The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate and asks anyone with information to call their office.
