NEW ALBANY, Ohio — Police said on Monday that they were looking into a string of crimes that started earlier this
month.
In two weeks, police said that someone used paint balls on the elementary school, aquatics center, random cars, street signs and dozens of homes.
One neighborhood was vandalized several times the same night, CrimeTracker 10's Angela An reported.
"It was late at night and I heard a loud noise," said Marilyn Beran. She said that a paintball cracked her front window.
"The next morning, I saw the blasts on the windows," Beran said.
According to police, graffiti on a sign along a highway and the town's street signs is connected.
"Not only the New Albany overpasses, but also ones in Licking County that were sprayed with the same thing," said New Albany police Sgt. Greg Jones.
Along with paintball attacks, police said that the vandals threw a pumpkin into the back window of a car.
Nothing was taken, but the owner says he paid $1,500 to get it fixed.
Police said that they were going to increase patrols and were asking residents to watch for anything suspicious.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 614-855-1234.
