Susan E. Blade was outside her vehicle that broke down along Coonpath Road, east of Stringtown Road, at about 1:20 a.m. when she was struck by a Chevrolet Blazer that was heading in the opposite direction.

Blade, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the SUV was not injured, troopers said.

The crash was under investigation.
