Gahanna police Officer Christopher Thomas has been on disability since December, and now the Bureau of Workers' Compensation plans to join the investigation, 10 Investigates' Paul Aker reported.
Last month, Thomas and Ohio State Highway Trooper Jason Highsmith were pulled over along Interstate 70. Troopers said the men were traveling nearly 150 mph on their motorcycles.

According to records obtained by 10 Investigates, Thomas has been on paid leave since hurting himself in a fall on Dec. 20. The records say he slipped on ice and injured his chin and strained his upper back.
Taxpayers have been paying his $34 an hour salary since, Aker reported.
Gahanna police Chief Ken Bell said his department plans to investigate.
"The normal course of action would be to gather all of the information and determine if in fact there had been a violations of rules," Bell said.
Meanwhile, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation said it will help the Gahanna Police Department determine whether Thomas may have exaggerated his injuries, Aker reported.
"We'll look at all the medical documentation (that) has been on file," said Tom Wersell with the OBWC. "It shouldn't take too long. The injury only occurred six months ago."
Bell said he will wait and see what happens with the speeding ticket before deciding whether or not Thomas would face any disciplinary action, Aker reported.
Thomas was expected to appear in court next week. Attempts to reach him for comment on Friday were unsuccessful.
