COLUMBUS, Ohio — People left flowers Sunday on the spot where an Ohio University student was stabbed to death Saturday evening in Goodale Park.

Police said Bryan Barbin was stabbed multiple times at about 8:15 p.m. during the Community Festival, known as ComFest.

Witnesses said they saw two people on the ground and it looked like they were wrestling, 10TV's Glenn McEntyre reported.

"I thought he was playing around so I just sort of blew it off," Diane Luers said. "And the next thing I knew my husband said, 'There's a guy getting arrested,' and we looked over and the guy was laying on the ground."

Barbin, 18, was transported to Grant Medical Center, where he died shortly after midnight.

People who attended the festival said they were shocked.

"It was really stunning," Doug Golding said. "I've been coming here so long and it's always a very peaceful event."

Police detained and questioned a teenager who was with Barbin, McEntyre reported. Police released him and without pressing charges.

Investigators said they questioned more witnesses on Sunday, McEntyre reported.

Anyone with information is asked to call Columbus police at 614-645-4730.
