18-Year-Old Stabbed, Killed At ComFest

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police said a teenager died after he was stabbed multiple times during Saturday's Community Festival.

Bryan Barbin was stabbed at about 8:15 p.m. at the event, known as ComFest, 10TV News reported.    

ComFest is held at Goodale Park near downtown Columbus.

Witnesses said they saw two people on the ground and it looked like they were wrestling, 10TV's Andy Hirsch reported.

"I thought he was playing around so I just sort of blew it off," Diane Luers said. "And the next thing I knew my husband said, 'There's a guy getting arrested,' and we looked over and the guy was laying on the ground."

Barbin, 18, was transported to Grant Medical Center where he died.

People who attended the festival said they were were shocked.

"It was really stunning," Doug Golding said. "I've been coming here so long and it's always a very peaceful event."

Police said they detained one man for questioning. Charges were not immediately filed.
